Magnolias Receives Honor From Home Accents Today Magazine!
Magnolias is honored for retailing excellence by Home Accents Today magazine
May 26, 2010, Greensboro, N.C. – Magnolias, located at 2118 Market Lane in Norfolk, Neb., has been named one of Home Accents Today’s 50 Retail Stars for 2010 by editors of the premier trade magazine for the home accents industry. The stores selected have demonstrated that they operate successfully in their marketing areas, exhibit strength in merchandising, display and/or advertising, and have a positive presence in their local communities.
Home Accents Today editors focused on independent and family-run retailers, specifically those considered specialty, home accent or home furnishings stores. Members of the industry were invited to suggest stores and retailers were encouraged to submit information describing their businesses. This list was compiled and narrowed down by research analysts and editors of the publication.
"Home Accents Today is very excited to reveal the 2010 Retail Stars," said Jenny Heinzen York, editor in chief. "Retail is a challenging profession, even in the best of times, but this year's Stars have met head-on the enormous challenge that our current economy represents. Magnolias Honored as Top Retail Star
LINCOLN — Magnolias Home Decor and Design was recently chosen by the national publication, Home Accents Today as a top Retail Star. The Home Accents Today magazine credits Magnolias marketing and promotional events as one of the reasons it was chosen and featured a photo of a store display.
"What an honor to be selected by a publication that we have for many years turned to for the lastest in trend and industry business guidance," says Amy Renter, co-owner of Magnolias. Amy, along with Rachel Kurpgeweit, create a mother-daughter team that they credit as the key to their business’s 12-year success. "Our store has been a collaboration of our two complementary design looks. With so many wonderful home accent stores nationwide, it's very gratifying to have received this compliment!", remarks Rachel.
The annual Retail Stars list is made up of 50 specialty retailers and design boutiques that are staying on top of the game with creative merchandising, community involvement and out-of-the-box business ideas. Magnolias plans to celebrate the recognition in conjunction with an upcoming store event on June 10, 5-8 pm. The S.M.I.L.E. Roundup Party will feature wine, chocolate and shopping with 10% of sales donated to S.M.I.L.E. Inc., a non-profit organization providing therapy on horseback for special needs children and adults.
